Realidad y Ficción. Aportaciones a la moda de los nuevos formatos audiovisuales

Resumen

Cuando la realidad de la vida cotidiana nos aleja de la excentricidad y exuberancia de la moda solo queda la ficción. En un momento de crecimiento para géneros audiovisuales como el fashion film o las series de televisión la moda encuentra nuevos medios a través de los cuales expandirse. Nuevos formatos audiovisuales en los que encontrar un refugio creativo cuando convierten a la moda en otra protagonista más de la historia. Ficciones que a su vez -por la estrecha conexión que existe entre moda y cuerpo- nos permitirán indagar y reflexionar sobre cuestiones como la identidad, la diversidad y el género. Para ello prestaremos atención a dos series de televisión de reciente creación: Killing Eve y Pose. En ellas veremos las diferencia entre los conceptos de moda y uniforme y cómo en nombre de la racionalidad y el buen gusto la diversidad parece desaparecer de la realidad.

Reality and Fiction. Contributions of new audiovisual formats to fashion

Abstract

When the reality of daily life takes us away from the eccentricity and exuberance of fashion, only fiction remains. In a time of growth for audiovisual genres such as fashion film or television series, fashion finds new means through which to expand. New audiovisual formats in which to find a creative refuge when they turn fashion into yet another protagonist in the story. Fictions which in turn - due to the close connection between fashion and the body - will allow us to explore and reflect on issues such as identity, diversity and gender. To this end, we will pay attention to two recent television series: Killing Eve and Pose. In them we will see the differences between the concepts of fashion and uniform and how in the name of rationality and good taste diversity seems to disappear from reality.
